Comtech Systems, Inc. Receives Troposcatter Upgrade Contract From Foreign Military
MELVILLE, N.Y., May 7, 2009 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX News Network) — Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that its Orlando, Florida-based subsidiary, Comtech Systems, Inc. received a $1.0 million contract to upgrade a digital over-the-horizon microwave communications system for a foreign military. The award is for the upgrade of over-the-horizon troposcatter communications links with sites located on an offshore island and a land-based communications center. The system will provide a data rate of up to twenty megabits per second (20Mbps) employing the CS67200 digital troposcatter modem, in place of the previous generation S575 modem, and will be used to carry both digital voice and data traffic.
