CS42000 Solid State Power Amplifier
2000 Watt C-Band Troposcatter SSPA

Comtech’s CS42000 Solid State Power Amplifier provides up to 2000 Watts of transmit power for troposcatter systems, while also being able to function in a 10 Watt low power mode for line of site applications. The CS42000’s use of Gallium Nitride (GaN) devices results in an increase in the usable transmit power relative to Klystron and TWT amplifiers, while simultaneously reducing AC power consumption and maintenance by eliminating limited-life parts, e.g klystrons and traveling wave tubes.

As with all Comtech troposcatter SSPAs, the CS42000 is fully compatible with the CS-series modems’ automatic power control features, allowing the SSPA to automatically adjust the transmit power of a system to compensate for the long-term atmospheric variations inherent to troposcatter communications.

  • Drop-in replacement for legacy AN/TRC-170 klystron amplifiers
  • Highly efficient Gallium Nitride (GaN) Transistors
  • 4.4GHz to 5GHz Frequency Range
  • 620 MHz wide band design
