Comtech Systems, Inc. microwave terminals are designed to complement our troposcatter terminals by using common equipment modules. The hallmark of the Comtech Systems, Inc. microwave terminal is complete field tunability across the entire operating range without requiring any test equipment. This feature is designed for military applications operating in a transportable or tactical environment, and which require adaptable and easily changeable frequency assignments to meet tactical requirements. The Comtech Systems microwave terminal is designed for 34 Mbps capacity, hot standby, frequency or space diversity, with configurations changeable by the user in the field. Comtech’s microwave terminals are supplied in electronic equipment shelters for transportable applications or in racks for fixed site applications in buildings.
Using common equipment modules, spares holdings can be minimized, and common training can be used for both microwave and troposcatter terminals. Using a common base of equipment allows for easy frequency planning, easy interfacing between tropo and microwave terminals for repeaters and drop and insert applications, integrated network monitor and control (NMC), and minimizes the amount of test equipment and adapters necessary for system maintenance.
