Comtech Systems provides high power transmit amplifiers matched to the tropo path loss predictions and the user’s availability requirements. High power amplifiers are available as solid state power amplifiers (SSPA) or klystron power amplifiers (KPA). SSPA’s are generally available off the shelf up to approximately 300 watts. KPA’s are available off the shelf up to approximately 2 Kw for a 10 MHz bandwidth. SSPA’s are generally broadband over the operating range and require no field tuning. KPA’s are narrow band and are tunable in the field to match the user’s channel frequencies. Operating frequency bands are typically 1800 to 2400 MHz, 4400-500 MHz and 7400-7700 MHz. Other bands are possible and can be investigated. All amplifiers can be provided for fixed site or transportable applications.
