Comtech Systems rack mounted upgrade kit to modernize legacy transportable and tactical troposcatter terminals. The Comtech Systems’ upgrade kit is a plug and play replacement for older troposcatter modems. The Comtech Systems upgrade kit improves link performance and simultaneously doubles the bit rate of legacy troposcatter terminals (from 4 Mb/sec to 16 Mb/sec). The upgrade kit is based on commercial off the shelf (COTS) equipment and is for easy installation in equipment racks in the field wherever the troposcatter terminals are located. Comtech Systems’ kit is currently being used to upgrade the US Military legacy AN/TRC-170 troposcatter terminals.
