Program Manager

FUNCTION

Responsible to the Vice President of Program Management for administration of major commercial and government programs.  Develops, releases, and monitors all schedules and budgets within his assigned projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepares and issues work authorizations and program directives setting forth details of work to be performed including price, delivery, and other terms and conditions of the order.
  2. Prepares and issues Statements of Work (SOWs) outlining the requirements of sub-contractors to furnish services and materials in accordance with agreed schedules and prices.
  3. Coordinates with Engineering to ensure timely submission of documentation for procurement of equipment and material by Purchasing and to ensure that system manuals and final documentation are delivered to the customer in a timely manner.
  4. Coordinates with Manufacturing and Quality Control to insure timely fabrication, testing, packing and shipping of deliverable items.
  5. Develops, releases and maintains long-range plans, project schedules, progress reports, and budgets for the program.
  6. Manages program to ensure that work is being performed in accordance with the schedule as set forth in the work authorizations and initiate corrective action as required.  Reports periodically to internal management on the status of all active orders.
  7. Initiates, arranges, and coordinates meetings, presentations and discussions as required with customer personnel for the exchange of information or for the resolution of problems that may arise during the life of the contract.
  8. Negotiates with customers to resolve problems, including technical, financial and scheduling issues, which are within the scope of, and arise during, the life of the contract.

EDUCATION REQUIRED

BS Degree in Engineering, Accounting or Business Administration.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Ten years experience in government and/or commercial (domestic and international) program management for multi-year projects exceeding $25M. Full knowledge and experience in Microsoft Projects and ERP/MRP systems for program management, manufacturing and engineering. Requires knowledge of Configuration Management processes. Must have experience in working with Foreign Nationals. Working knowledge of the French language is a plus.
