Job Description:
Plans and directs all the marketing organization's worldwide sales efforts, offices and representative organizations personally or through subordinate supervisors to achieve planned Company business levels. Reports to President.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements strategic marketing plans to achieve Company and Corporate sales objectives for products and services.
- Researches, analyzes and monitors financial, technological and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.
- Develops and manages marketing operating budget.
- Plans and oversees advertising, trade shows and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media and direct mail.
- Evaluates and recommends distribution channel development programs.
- Serves as liaison with outside agencies on ongoing promotional campaigns.
- Oversees development and production of promotional and collateral materials.
- Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
- Achieves planned market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
- Ensures effective control of marketing results and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
- Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Monitors competitive products and marketing activities.
- Oversees development and maintenance of customer database.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with customers and key strategic partners.
- Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts and provides feedback for future product development.
- Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
- Alerts Company to potential favorable business acquisitions.
- Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be a highly motivated individual who is very goal oriented and is able to lead a like-minded marketing/sales organization. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
Extensive successful experience in international sales and marketing. Marketing or technical degree helpful.
Language Skills
None required but any language skills helpful.
Reasoning Ability
Able to develop long and short-term strategies as programs evolve to maintain market dominance.
Computer Skills
Microsoft Work, PowerPoint and Excel necessary.
Other Skills and Abilities
Good presentation, organizational and management skills a must. Able to travel up to 40% of the time if needed.
Other Qualifications
Knowledge of international contractual and financial norms an asset. Technical understanding of broadband and satellite communications desirable.
